I'm going to pass the cup. We need to raise $4M to buy Jerry's Stinson Beach Compound. I figure we do timeshare weeks at $80K a piece. Who's in?

He must've lived in what they're calling the 'carriage house.'
This is where the famous Rolling Stone interview -with the Yale law professor Charles Reich along with Jann Wenner -took place in two parts- the first in July of '71 and the 'stoned Sunday rap' in early March of '72. Where Keith and Donna would come over and they'd run through gospel tunes, some of which even cracked the starting lineup for a spell ('Tomorrow is Forever'). Where the 'Old and in the Way' gang got together and worked it out prior to playing publicly. Where in the words of Peter Rowan Garcia would walk around all day with his banjo strapped on, picking and grinning. Wher ehe spent many hours in the summe rof '73 watching the Watergate Hearings. His most fertile musical period by any measure, to be sure. The New Riders, the early JGB with Kahn, Saunders and Vitt, O&ITW,.....oh, and the Dead in their glorious '71-'74 incarnation.
The 'newly built main residence,' while I certainly wouldn't mind hanging my hat there, certainly changes the feel of the property over what it was in the early seventies.
Still though, lotsa glorious history in that space.

Tell you what, I'll live in the guesthouse as a caretaker in lieu of salary or any investment. Let me know.

Sounds fair. I'll need a cook too, so there's another position avaialble. Probably a cleaning staff... and $4million, I need that too. Well, pretty much got this deal all sealed up.
